A valid lab requisition form from your healthcare provider is required to book mobile lab services. FloLabs is able to collect samples for most tests on APL requisitions. Mobile services starting at $89 + GST.
Are FloLabs services covered by insurance?
Some insurance plans may cover our services. We recommend checking with your provider for details regarding coverage and reimbursement. Direct billing is not available.
Can multiple people receive services during a single appointment?
Yes, we can accommodate multiple individuals during one visit. Please reach out to us to discuss in order for FloLabs to ensure enough time is allocated for your appointment. Additional charges may apply.
How long does it take to get test results back?
Samples are delivered for processing the same day as your appointment. Results are generally back to your ordering physician within 24-72 hours.
How to prepare for your mobile lab appointment
At FloLabs, the safety and comfort of our clients and team members are our top priorities. To ensure a smooth and successful experience, please read and follow the following guidelines carefully.
Lab Requisition: Ensure you have a valid, complete lab requisition from your physician or healthcare provider.
Identification: Have a valid Alberta Health Card and government-issued ID (e.g., driver’s license, passport, or birth certificate).
Substance Use: Avoid alcohol, cannabis, or illicit drugs before your appointment.
Smoking: Refrain from smoking 2 hours before your appointment.
Hydration: Stay well-hydrated by drinking plenty of water beforehand to support a successful blood draw.
Food: Eat a light meal or snack unless your test requires fasting.
Safe Environment: Keep pets and small children clear of the collection area and ensure it is safe, clean, and free from hazards.
Comfortable Seating: Provide a sturdy chair with arm support for the blood draw and a place to lie down if you’re prone to fainting.
Appointment Refusal or Cancellation by Technician:
Our phlebotomist may cancel or refuse the appointment if the collection area or conditions are deemed unsafe or unsuitable. Your cooperation helps us maintain the highest standards of care and professionalism.
Time-Sensitive Tests:
These tests require collection at specific times: Cortisol AM: Appointment must take place between 7 am and 10 am. Cortisol PM: Appointment must take place between 3 pm and 7 pm.
Test Exclusions:
The following tests cannot be collected by FloLabs: Aldosterone and Renin, ACTH Stimulation, D-Dimer, ECG/EKG, Glucose Gestational Diabetes Screen, Glucose Tolerance, Heavy Metals (Copper), Lupus Anticoagulant, PTT, Troponin, Vitamin C, Select 24H Urine tests (Catecholamine, Metanephrine, Oxalate, Porphyrin)
